The
Nadavins were established in 1974 when we acquired our first Irish
setter as a wedding present. For the first few years we
concentrated on the Irish then in 1981 we purchased our first Field
Spaniel. “Victoria” Sh Ch Donholme Eva of Nadavin JW who went
on to became our foundation bitch.
We are Kennel Club Assured
Breeders and have had a successful inspection carried out to standards
assessed by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). These
standards were formally introduced in January 2013 and only Kennel Club
Assured Breeders that have completed a successful visit since that date
are issued with a UKAS Certificate.
In addition we have also been assigned all
four Assured Breeders Accolades:-
Accolade
of Excellence (Denotes
a significant contribution to a breed.)
Breeder
Experience (5
or more litters registered with the Kennel Club.)
Breed
Club Membership (Current
member of one or more breed clubs.)
Studbook
Achievement (Bred
at least 3 dogs listed in the Studbook.)
We have also been awarded the
"Our Dogs
Top Breeder" award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018,
2019 (2020 not awarded Covid) , 2021, 2023 & 2024
All
our dogs are direct ancestors of “Victoria”. We have also
produced the foundation bitches for both the Tayowen and Tumblebar
kennels.
Over
the years we have been very fortunate to have bred a number of Field
Spaniels that have gone on to become Show Champions. Three of which
came from our well known D litter, Danielle, Diplomat and Dusky
Princess and Four from our Q litter, Quinevere, Quintessa, Quinlan and
Quany. In 1993 our first most famous lady came along Sh Ch Nadavin
Elegance JW, "Pippa" winning 28 CC’s under individual judges. Sadly she passed away
suddenly in 2003 still at the height of her career but is still
remembered by all. However her memory goes on in her Granddaughter Sh Ch Nadavin Julianna JW
ShCM "Olivia" who is Top Field for 2004,
2005, 2006 and 2007, Top Gundog in the Vitalin Bitch of the Year competition
2005 and has represented the breed at the Contest of Champions on
several occasions. Olivia is now the Breed Record Holder
being the only
Field to have ever won "39 CC's" (40 CC's in total) under different Judges,
carrying on Pippa's winning ways.

But
above all this the Nadavins are all family pets, they enjoy sitting on
the settee watching television. Caravanning all over the country
throughout the year, getting very muddy and dirty on holiday and at
home. They have great fun exploring the countryside, climbing
the hills in Scotland and playing in the forest in Hampshire.
Our puppies have gone on into family homes and are thoroughly spoilt
by the children. Our main aim apart from type is to keep the lovely
temperament of the breed. A prime example of this being our
lovely Sh Ch Nadavin Aristocrat JW, “Jock” was eventually banned from
the child handling classes at some of the open shows when he stood
correctly for the children without being asked. It was felt that
his handlers had an unfair advantage!! Even after a severe neck injury
we had no hesitation in any child playing with him.
We
are very lucky that our dogs have gone on to be so successful in the
show ring, but to us they are our family and give many, many hours of
pleasure and laughter.
What of the future? who knows?. Our hopes at the moment are pinned on the latest
new editions to the Nadavin family Sh Ch Prince Arthur Vom Belauer See at
Nadavin (IMP DEU) J.W. McGregor came over from Germany to join us,
co-owned with Ulf Baumann and is sired by our own Sh Ch Ewtor
McEwan at Nadavin JW Sh CM. and his daughter Sh Ch Nadavin Exclusive J.W. out of
our Sh Ch Nadavin Wenhaver J.W. as well as the latest trouble makers
Nadavin Zahee and Sh Ch Nadavin Neala J.W.
The rest of the gang can be seen on the following pages.
And that as they say is the story of the "Nadavins" to date.
